The Management of relegated Kitara Football Club have announced the acquisition of seven acres of land for constructing their stadium.
According to the club Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Joshua Atugonza, the land cost Shs. 42,000,000/- (Shs. 6,000,000/- per acre) and is meant to construct a state of art recreation center that will have a standard football field, athletics running track, dressing rooms, mini stand with facilities for other games as Volleyball, Netball, Hockey and Rugby.
The land is located at Kyamugenzi Local Council 1, Butema parish – Buhanika sub county, 16 Km from the city center and just 1Km from the Hoima – Kampala city Highway
This development was confirmed through the club’s official website on Tuesday morning.
“The Management of Kitara Football Club has acquired land in the oil rich city of Hoima.”
Speaking about this development Joshua Atugonza said: “We are excited that management of Kitara Football Club managed to secure land for a recreation center where a football field will be put and other facilities.
Kitara initially hosted their games at Kigaaya Playground in the FUFA Big League seasons before earning promotions in the top tier where they used Kavumba Recreation centre in Wakiso district in first round and later shifted to Masindi Municipal Stadium for the second round of the season in the top flight as they got relegated.
