Henry Kitengi’s Lone Goal Ends Venoms Winning Streak.

Mbarara City Football Club handed Vipers Sports Club their first defeat of the season overpowering the Venoms at Kakyeka Stadium in Mbarara.

Vipers had won 8 and drawn 3 of their opening 11 matches this season and another win would have seen the Venoms reclaimed their spot at the top of the log with 30 points.

But Mbarara City who are now thirteen points clear were rewarded with a sublime performance with the Ankole Lions seeing off the Venoms.

Henry Kitengi scored the only goal of the game as Mbarara City beat Vipers 1-0 at Kakyeka Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The score was goalless in the first stanza.

Just four minutes into the second stanza Kitengi scored against his former club tapping over Vipers’ custodian Bashir Sekagye.

The defeat sees Vipers Sports Club remain in the second place with 27 points in 12 games, meanwhile Mbarara City FC moved to the 10th place with 13 points in 12 games.

Mbarara City FC will next face Onduparaka FC on Tuesday at AbaBet Greenlight stadium in Arua. While Vipers host Sports Club Villa on Wednesday.
