Ugandan football agent Ronald Mugisha ” Ronnie Santos Mwiine has been arrested in Kenya for allegedly fixing a match, Kenyan police have confirmed.
Santos was arrested on Saturday inside a hotel in Kisumu for allegedly fixing a match involving a game between Western Stima and KCB which was scheduled to be played on Sunday at Moi International stadium.
Western Stima chairman confirmed the news to Goal as he said he was approached by some of his players who told him about an individual who was trying to fixt the match.
” So, I told my players to play along, but ensure they have recorded whatever was happening. I also told my team manager to ensure he has called me so that I follow up on the conversation in secrecy,” Jobita told Goal.”
” I heard everything that was going on in the room and how he wanted to make a down-payment of Ksh70,000.”
“He had promised to pay Ksh600,000 once the deal goes through as planned. It is at this point that we stormed the hotel and the man was arrested. He is currently remanded at Kisumu Central Police Station.”
” My players have agreed to testify against him once he is arraigned.”
Mugisha is yet to be convicted with investigations still underway as he is detained at Kisumu Central Police.
