Milton Karisa is not available for Uganda Cranes 2020 Africa Nations Championships (CHAN) with Togo on Wednesday, head coach Jonathan Mckinstry has confirmed.
The Vipers forward picked up a muscle injury during CHAN Group C clash against Rwanda on Monday evening.
Brain Aheebwa then came in to replace the striker in the 15th minutes of the encounter.
Confirming the news, Uganda Cranes head coach Jonathan Mckinstry said :“It’s unfortunate that we won’t be with him for now but we are letting the doctors do their work and see how we are able to get him back and what condition that can be.”
“We shall see how he progresses in the next few days and now give a clear timeline in association with the doctor’s work.”
Mckinstry also confirmed that team captain Halid Lwaliwa will be available for selection after recovering from an injury he suffered during the Cranes training.
Lwaliwa missed the first game against Rwanda but confirmation from the camp say he is fully fit and ready to play the game against Togo on Friday.
The clash with Togo is the second game for Uganda Cranes who played a goalless draw with neighbors Rwanda in the CECAFA CHAN derby.
Victories for Uganda Cranes could hand Mckinstry’s charges hopes to qualify to the quarter finals of the tournament for the first time in history.
