The Federation Of Uganda Football Association ( FUFA) on Sunday confirmed the way forward for FUFA Big League and Regional League amidst the COVID-19 out break.
The FUFA Big League and Regional League scheduled to take place on Felbruary 4th and 14th 2021, has been postponed due to coronavirus pandemic. An official Kickoff date for the both league will be communicated after finalizing consultation process with the management of Covid-19 SOPS in the both league.
“The Big League and Regional kick-off is postponed until the process of consultation on the management of COVID 19 SOPs in said Leagues is finalised,” FUFA Competitions Director Hajjat Aisha Nalule has said.
The league draft fixture was scheduled to be released on January 8 2021 but that didn’t happen.
This is the second time FUFA Big League and Regional League Kickoff dates have been postponed, having initially Confirmed October 2020 as the officail kick-off date before pushing to February 4 2021 and now it has been pushed further to a yet to be confirmed date.
Nalule also confirmed that the Women Super and Elite League that were scheduled to kickstart on February 13th and 20th respectively, have all been postponed to a further date.
Calvary Football Club, Luweero United, Gaddafi Football Club and Terrazzo and Tiles are the clubs that have earned sporting promotions to the 2021 FUFA Big League.
Meanwhile Maroons FC, Proline Football Club and Tooro United were all relegated from the top tier league to the second tier league.
The federation of Uganda Football Associations is expected to communicate the official dates for the above League to commence after finalizing consultations with the COVID-19 SOPs.
