Kampala City Council Authority Football Club on Wednesday evening bowed out of the CAF Confederation Cup despite their 3-1 victory over Association Sportive De Kigali of Rwanda.
AS Kigali qualified for the group stage with a 3-3 goal aggregate following a 2-0 aggregate that was granted to them by CAF in Rwanda a week ago after KCCA failed to raise a minimum number of players required for the game.
The Kasasiro Boys engaged in an attacking options right from the start of the game but the win wasn’t enough to over turn the results for them to qualify to next rounds since they needed three unanswered goals .
Tallisman Brain Aheebwa opened the lead for the Kasasiros as early as 2nd minutes from the start after firing home from a volley .
Hussein Thabalala looked to pulled one back for the visitors but custodian Charles Lukwago stood tall between the sticks to deny the forward.
KCCA FC goalkeeper Charles Lukwago had to deny AS Kigali on several occasions after with a soumptous punches in the 10th and 22nd minutes.
Aheebwa then completed his brace in the 36th minute to double the lead and tie the aggregate for the hosts for a 2-2 in the first stanza.
In the second stanza, KCCA FC gaffer introduced teenager Sadat Anaku and Steven Sswerwada for Kafumbe and Sam Ssenyonjo respectively.

AS Kigali got the gaol they much needed from a spot kick after Musa Ramadan fouled Abalubakar inside the box.
Muhadjili Hakizimana stepped up to put the ball in the corner sending KCCA FC goalkeeper Charles Lukwago in the wrong direction in the 50th minute.
Brain Aheebwa then completed his hatrick for 3-1 after looping the ball in an empty net off Ashraf Mugume’s through ball but that wasn’t enough for the Kasasiros Boys who bowed out of tournament despite 3-1 win at St Mary’s stadium kitende.
