Kampala City Council Football Club suffered their second straight league defeat when they lost 2-1 to Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club at MTN Omondi stadium Lugogo.
The Tax Collectors rallied from a goal down to hand the Kasassiros their second straight Uganda Premier League defeat on Friday evening.
Talisman Brain Aheebwa put the hosts ahead in 26th minute for his seventh goal but Benjamin Nyakoojo equalized for the visitors in the 31st minute and Shafiq Kagimu scored a deciding goal for the Tax Collectors in the 37th minute.
KCCA broke the deadlock in the 26th minute, Brain Aheebwa headed a powerful header from Sam Ssenyonjo’s cross for a 1-0 lead.
Nyakoojo and Majwega responded for a first URA goal that arrived 5 minutes from Aheebwa’s goal. Benjamin Nyakoojo nodded home Brain Majwega’s corner to level matters for the visitors in the 31st minute.
URA could have added the second when they were awarded a penalty in the 33rd minute but Ivan Sserubiri bungled his penalty over the bar.
Moments later the Tax Collectors doubled their lead in the 36th minute thanks to Shafiq Kagimu who found the back of the net from a close range before the interval for a 2-1 win.
The second half saw few chances created by both sides with KCCA coming close to score in the 70th minute but Peter Magambo was denied by URA custodian Ajaib Nafian.
A tense period through to the final whistle followed, but Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club were able to hold out for victory.
The result saw URA topped the log with 11 points in 5 games while KCCA dropped to the third spot with 9 points.
