Kampala City Council Authority Football Club suffered their first defeat of the 2020-21 StarTimes UPL season when they lost 2-1 to Sports Club Villa at Bombo Military Barracks Grounds on Tuesday evening.
Nicholas Kabonge and Ronald Sekinda scored in either halves to hand the Jogoos a 2-1 victory over Kassasiros, while Brain Aheebwa scored a consolation goal for KCCA to extend his goals to six.
KCCA created first opportunity in the 10th minute but Brain Aheebwa’s shot went wide. before Aheebwa floated high to head Achai’s cross that was comfortably collected by Villa’s custodian Meddie Kibirige.
Villa came close to open the lead through Nicholas Kabonge but his effort went wide before Kabonge broke the deadlock through a calculated strike outside the box for a 1-0 in the 32nd minute.
The score was 1-0 during the first half break following a highly contested clash.
The visitors could have levelled matters but teenager sensational Sam Ssenyojo was denied by custodia Meddie Kibirige.
Villa then doubled the lead following a dense error from the Kassasiros who failed to clear Benson Muhindo’s cross.
Ronald Ssekinda sent a volley past KCCA FC shot-stopper Charles Lukwago for a 2-0 in the 85th minute.
KCCA FC were awarded a penalty after Brain Aheebwa was fouled in the box.
Aheebwa stepped up to score a consolation goal for the visitors from the spot-kick to make it 2-1.
