Wakiso Giants Football Club midfielder Gadafi Wahab “Thiago” has paid an emotional tribute to his former club Onduparaka FC as he returns to Greenlight for the Uganda Premier League clash.
It will be a home return for the West Nile superstars Gadafi Wahab when he takes the pitch at Greenlight on Tuesday evening, The Paruku stadium where it all started for him
He brought an end to his six and half year stay at Onduparaka FC in January this year to join Wakiso Giants along with Faizul Ibrahim and Geriga Atendele.
Gadafi who Confirms he will not celebrate against his former club, believes it will be an emotional affair for him but will work hard to help the Purple Sharks earn maximum points.
“It’s my first time to face Onduparaka and it’s emotional,” reads part Wahab’s statement on his club website.
“I enjoyed my time at the club, it was like a family and spent six and half years – still got friends there and because of the team, I am here at Wakiso Giants. Without them, I wouldn’t be the player I am today.” he added
“I have emotional attachments but I don’t think that will hinder my performance against them because my home is currently Wakiso.”
Both Onduparaka Football Club and Wakiso Giants Football Club have not had the best starts to season with the Caterpillars sitting on the 8th position of the log with 4 points in 3 games while the Purple Sharks are currently languishing on 10th spot with 3 points in 3 games.
