KCCA Scrape Past Bright Stars FC.

Kampala City Council Football Club started their 2020/21 StarTimes Uganda Premier League campaign with a 2-1 away win to Bright Stars Football Club at Kavuma Recreational ground on Thursday evening.

First half goals from Brain Aheebwa and Sam Ssenyonjo hands the Kassasiros their first win of the season.

Joseph Akandwanaho scored a consolation goal for the hosts in the 83th minutes.

Bright Stars dominated the first stanza with KCCA short stopper Charles Lukwago denying Joseph Jinjali’ 25 yard freee kick in the 6th minute.

KCCA’s first half goal came through Brain Aheebwa as he combined with Kizito to find the back of the net for a 1-0 in the 21st minute.

Moments later the Kassasiros doubled the lead in the 27th minute through Sam Ssenyojo’s strike for a 2-0 in the first half

In the second half KCCA FC gaffer Mike Mutebi introduced Juma Balinya and Lwanga Charles for Ssenyonjo Samuel and Ashraf Mugume respectively while Bright Stars’ Augustine Kacancu came in for Jamil Nvule Kisitu.

Bright Stars got a consolation goal through Joseph Akandwanaho in the 83rd minute for 2-1.

The win sees the Kassasiros sit on top of the log with 3 points and will host Onduparaka Football Club while Bright Stars will travel away to URA in their next fixture.
