In (PRESS RELEASE) released on 26th/Nov/2020 The management of Kampala’s Silver Springs Hotel has extended sprinter Shida Leni’s complimentary usage of its Espace Gym, until the Tokyo Olympics in July 2021.
SHIDA LENI

For the starters, Shida Leni, 27, has been trained for over 7 years by the British husband and wife coaching team of Kevin and Sue O’Connor. In that time she has broken the 400m National Record on 7 occasions, and last year broke the 200m National Record, as well as winning 400m Silver Medal at the World University Games in Italy, narrowly missing out on Gold
ESPACE GYM’S PART IN SHIDA’S SUCCESS
Kevin commented, “Shida is tall and slim, but immensely strong due to her use of the Espace Gym. By allowing her to use its gym three times a week, free of charge, Silver Springs Hotel has played a huge part in Shida’s success.”
TOKYO OLYMPICS
“Shida’s 2021 target,” Kevin continued, “is to qualify for the Olympic Games. To do this, she needs to improve her 400m National Record by a tiny amount, “from 51.47 sec to 51.35 sec”, NOT “from 41.47 sec to 41.35 sec.” which is only around 90cms. If she qualifies, I believe she will be the only Ugandan sprinter (male or female) at the Games, as all Uganda’s other representatives will be middle or long distance runners.”
BEST GYM IN KAMPALA
“I think the Espace Gym is the best gym in Kampala. I hope other sportswomen and men, and the general public, can use it more” concluded Kevin.
