Newly promoted Uganda Premier League outfit Uganda Peoples Defense Forces Football Club ( UPDF FC ) have signed roving right-back Fred Okot after his contract expired with Vipers Sports Club at the end of last season.
Okot has signed a one-year employment contract that will keep him at Bombo based outfit until 2021 .
He has previously played for Kireka United, Risah Standard, Mehtah Lugazi and St. Mary’s Kitende in the National Post Primaries before signing for Lweza Fc, URA and most recently Vipers SC.
Okot also featured for the Uganda U-20 team (The Hippos) during the 2018 COSAFA U-20 tournament that was hosted by Zambia.
The Club have already signed several players including Gaddafi Gadinho, Dickson Okwir, Brain Kayanja, Juma Ssebaduka, Ronnie Kisekka, Simon Mbaziira, Ibrahim Wammanah, James Basega, Yusuf Wasswa, Tony Kyamera, Sam Kintu, Isa Mubiru, Charles Ssebutinde and Jesse Kajuba.
Davis Kamista, Godwin Kawaga, Abdul-Karim Kasule, Emmanuel Egau, Abasi Kiberu, Roger Milla Ahumuza, Fred Kalanzi, Sydney Ssenyonga, Junior Akena, Moses Kamya Mukwaya, Tugume, Enock Omakira., Titus Lubega and Jose Maria Lubega are some of the players that have left the Army based outfit.
UPDF FC will be under the stewardship of head coach Keffa Kisala who took over from Steven Bogere and will be deputized by Puis Ngoba with Saka Mpiima as the club trainer.
