Uganda Cranes centre back Murushid Juuko has officially joined the Red Eagles after completing a move from Moroccan outfit Wydad Casablanca.
Defender Juuko has officially been unveiled by Ugandan Premier League side Express Football Club.
The 26-year old joins on a one-year employment contract as a free agent following the termination of his employment contract with Wydad Casablanca.
The Red Eagles confirmed the deal on Friday afternoon via the club’s official Twitter account.
Juuko has 41 caps for Uganda Cranes, scoring one goal in the process.
He was a key member of the Uganda Cranes’ squad at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt where they were eliminated in the round of 16 against Senegal.
“Firstly i want to appreciate the CEO (Isaac Mwesigwa) and the head coach (Wasswa Bbosa) for making this happen, am happy to be here, Express is a big club and it’s current progress speaks for it’self and am sure we going to win silverware this season.” Juuko told the club website.
Juuko was also present at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations for Uganda Cranes in Gabon playing against Ghana at the group stages.
He turns into membership 16th signing after Godfrey Lwesibawa, Denis Otim, John Toki Byamukama, Charles Musige, Chrispus Kusiime, Richard Bbosa, Faisal Ssekyanzi, Abel Eturude, Mahad Kakooza, Baker Sakah, Ivan Mayanja, Enock Walusimbi, Ibrahim Kayiwa, Isaac Nsengiyunva, Dennis Mugerwa and Mustafa Kiragga.
