The Chairman of FUFA’s licensing committee Rogers Mulindwa highlighted the issue of club licensing for all regional league clubs starting in the 2021-22 season.
Mulindwa was addressing the Buganda Region Football Association 7th Annual General Assembly which was held on Saturday 19th September 2020 at Tropical Inn in Masaka.
“The club licensing of all third division clubs will be done by the FUFA Club Licensing Committee starting with the 2021-22 season.”
“We have given the clubs this forthcoming 2020-21 season to adjust with the changes as we have been working with regional associations towards the improvement.”
Mulindwa further emphasized that with effect from the 2021-22 season, clubs will have to fulfill all the necessary requirements before taking part in the league.
“Starting with the 2021-22 season clubs will have to fulfill all the necessary requirements before approval which includes a club having an office, a qualified coach, assistant coach and standard playing ground.”
“We believe this will help in preparing the clubs as they target promotion to the FUFA Big League and top flight.” He added
Mulindwa also revealed that the Uganda Premier League fixture is expected to be released on 17 Oct 2020 by the UPL secretariat in the FUFA General Assembly at Silver Springs Hotel.
