West Nile giants Onduparaka Football Club have confirmed the signing of Kyetume Football Club midfielder Ochen Derrick “The Gulu Boy”.
Derrick arrives at the Club after agreeing to a one-year employment contract and will have to stay at Greenlight Stadium until 2021
Gulu boy started his football career in secondary school playing for Kakungulu Memorial, Buddo S.S before joining Saints FC in his Senior Six Vacation. In 2016, Ochen signed for Kira United before making a move to Top Flight football with URA in 2018 where his stint came to an end before joining Kyetume last season.
He has been part of the Acholi Province team since the inaugural FUFA Drum Tournament and his ability to play on the wings, central midfield and left back guided the Acholi Province team to the FUFA Drum Glory.
Derrick turns into membership 14th signing after Simon Okot, Stephen Ogiramoi, Okech Emmanuel, Emmanuel Odur, Gabriel Matata, Kennedy Atibuni, Jerry Jakisa, Bony Musema, Jasper Okello and Augustine Opoka.
Hassan Muhamood, Andama Sabir, Abel Eturude, Ezra Bida are some of the players that have left the Green Armies in this on going primary transfer windows.
The club is currently led by Vialli Bianomugisha, who took over from caretaker coach Simeone Masaba in July. With Mubarak Abu Wamboya and Ibrahim Kongo as his assistant and goalkeeping coach respectively
